WoW servers are down.. blog post about world of warcraft.

What do I do when the WoW servers are down? Write about Wow of course..

[intro]
So, I made a new character when I started playing World of Warcraft again 2 months ago. This character, a Worgen Druid called Madain, was made at the same time as my boyfriend created his new character, a Dranei Shaman called Powntang.

On Martin's days off work, he'd play, and I'd be busy doing something else, or he'd be playing while I'd be sleeping, and he left me at level 55 while he was 68, and kept going. Luckily, I literally have a character of every level section- 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60, 60-70, 70-80 and 80-90. I kept playing with him bit by bit with various characters until he got his Shaman to level 85. My old main (I don't know how that works, but a story for later in the piece) was left at Cataclysm and I had not touched her, Dranei Preist (Holy) called Hectress, since Pandaria, she was at level 85 too. So I've jumped back on her. Right now, I'm trying to get Hectress to level 90 before Powntang.

I have only just gone to Pandaria with Hectress at level 88. I have been spending time redoing professions and I learnt a bunch more about pet battles. The profession business with Hectress is a hard one to explain. I love the professions, I think they're one of the coolest things in wow, but when I finish them, I find it hard to focus on professions with another character and sometimes the professions just don't suit the intended character (I dunno, I'm talking shit, I'm just crazy and keep leveling professions).

So, I had Hectress doing Mining and Jewel Crafting back when I first started, and it was alright but boring, I wanted the cool mounts and funky stuff I could wave around at everybody. I leveled it as far as Cata would allow (level 525). I then took a small break from WoW and upon return, I wasn't happy with JC, so I "forgot" that profession and picked up engineering, because that's what every sane Dranei Priest learns. I leveled engineering all the way  (during Cata again, level 525) and I had the helicopter mount and everything. It was pretty cool, but damn was it useless... I really just did that profession for the mounts, which cost a bucket load and are impossible. The crappy thing about the helicopter mount I made, is you could only use it when you knew the profession.

Taking this into account, as I play Hectress for the first time since the Pandaria expansion release, I decide engineering is no good for her (good bye noisy helicopter mount). No, I don't decide to leave Hectress with a high level engineering profession and let another one of my many characters learn a new profession. No, I unlearn engineering AND I unlearn mining. I am now doing Herbalism and Inscription. Hey, at least its more useful than engineering (I know I should have left her with JC in the begining but my level 90 Warlock is now at JC and Mining level 600).

I literally started playing Hectress again on the weekend and I already have my Herbalism and Inscription at level 500. I refused to go to Pandaria with my profession levels too low for the area. Now, I thought I was ready for Pandaria, until I found battlepets, and my god! These things are gorgeous! And boy do they give you some xp. I went from level 86-88 just from leveling my battle pets.

The pet battles that I was doing were just battling the wild pets, and I captured quite a lot too (I will post more about my battle pets in another post). I am yet to do a PvP pet battle. I will get into that when the servers come back on. I might also get my butt to Pandaria and get me some new gear.

What a rant. I will post more about my characters when I feel like it. Baiii.
