My thoughts on Miley Cyrus

What's going on?

I have loved Miley for many years. She and I are the same age, she has an amazing career and I look up to her, admire her.

At the moment, I don't know how to feel about everything she's been doing. She seems very pro alcohol and pro drug use and I don't think that's the best way to be when she's in the media so often and has such an impact on young people's lives.

She has said she is "growing up", and stuff like that, but really, you do not need to do all this stuff (this stuff being; drinking, drug use, partying, doing crazy things) to "grow up". I also feel bad for her, because there are many young people who do do this kind of thing as they "grow up", the difference is, there is no one following them around with a camera and telling the world that they're being bad.



I really love Miley's confidence. She has an amazing body, and she really flaunts it, but things like wearing practically underwear on Jimmy Kimmel is a bit much. Miley could be a lot more classy than she has been. If you compare what she wore on Jimmy Kimmel to what Selena Gomez wore, it says a lot about the person.

I compare Miley with Selena because they are both the same age and have really lead similar lives when it comes to their fame. Both Disney stars, both have a good musical career and both are in the lime light at the moment because of new album release. I'm not at all saying Miley should be more like Selena, I just find it interesting how they're both represented in the media and how seriously they both take their lives and what's shown to the public. Back to the clothing comparison, Miley wears her black, high-waisted underwear, a cropped top, a jacket that just covers her butt, thigh high boots with a huge heel and bling. Selena wears an elegant, above the knee cut, low v-neck front, red dress, with some simple small black heels. I think Miley would look gorgeous in something like this. Not to say I don't love Miley's body, but I hope to see her covered up and a bit more classy soon. You can still look fabulous covered up.

Miley's new single, "We Can't Stop" is the first single from her new album, and first album that she has released with RCA Records after leaving Hollywood Records. This new song has changed the way a lot of people feel about Miley. The song mentions drug use, partying etc, the video shows Miley having a party, and having a great time just like any other girl her age would having been so successful. SHE DID NOT WRITE THE SONG! She may like the song, and relate to it, but so do I. It just so happens she's the one saying the words and making it seem like she encourages such behavior.

I don't know. I'm confused. I love Miley, I feel weird about the messages she's putting out there.
I'm cool with the image change. The drug use is what really worries me. I don't want to see her spiral out of control.
I can't wait for the new album, Bangerz! Stay tuned, as I will be doing an album review when it is released.
